Rattlers run out of steam versus Javelinas

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's fell to South Central Region foe Texas A&M-Kingsville, 79-64, Tuesday night at Bill Greehey Arena.
 
The Rattlers kept close throughout, managing to get within two points with 13:41 left in the game. That was until the Javelinas finished the contest on a 22-9 run, handing the Rattlers their first home loss of the season, dropping their record to 2-5.
 
Skyler Brooks led the scoring for the Snakes with a team-high 16 points while Yanni Wetzell posted 12 points and six rebounds. Ed Seay added eight points and five boards off the bench as Robbie Benavidez tacked on a pair of threes.
 
Thursday, the Rattlers will return to action at home against Angelo State with an early tipoff time of 6 p.m.
