Rattlers fall to #16 Angelo State on the road

SAN ANGELO, Texas — Will Ferguson scored 17 points and Yanni Wetzell added 14, but it wasn't enough as St. Mary's Men's Basketball fell to No. 16 Angelo State, 83-65, on Friday.

The Rams (3-0) led 32-24 at the break and didn't look back, outscoring the Rattlers (2-4) 51-41 in a high-scoring second half to maintain control of the game.  

Angelo State's Quay King led all scorers with 25 points, connecting on 4-of-8 3-pointers. 

Ferguson was nearly as effective from long range, going 3 for 8 on 3-pointers. Wetzell had a double-double in the game, adding 11 rebounds to his 14 points. 

Freddie Williams added nine points, scoring all of his points from 3-point range, where he went 3 of 5. 

A.J. McGlown scored nine off the bench, while Lachie Woodhill had eight off the bench to help the Rattlers' bench outscore the Rams' 22-13. 

St. Mary's will return to action Tuesday when it hosts Texas A&M-Kingsville at 7:30 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
