@StMUvolleyball tamed by Heartland-leading Lions

SAN ANTONIO —  St. Mary's Volleyball dropped a hard-fought battle against the Heartland Conference-leading UAFS Lions on Saturday, falling 3-0 — 25-21, 25-20, 25-18 — at Bill Greehey Arena.   

Channing Hankins and Tarine Grace led the Rattlers with 12 and 10 kills, respectively, but the powerful UAFS attack proved too much by hitting .273 for the match. 

Bree Perry had 26 assists for St. Mary's (9-9, 3-4 in Heartland Conference), while Amanda Lake paced the squad with 10 digs. 

UAFS improved to 10-5 on the season, including a 6-0 record in league play. 

St. Mary's will return to action on Tuesday, when the Rattlers will host "Armed Forces Night" against Our Lady of the Lake. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
