Snakes stumble, fall to Chaps in straight-sets

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's was defeated by Lubbock Christian in straight-sets Friday night inside Bill Greehey Arena.
 
St. Mary's (4-12, 4-6) dropped its third match out of the last five despite Channing Hankins' 12 kills and seven digs and 25 assists from Bree Perry.
 
Hankins reeled off four kills late in the third set, bringing the Rattlers within one of forcing a fourth. It wasn't meant to be as the Lady Chaps would go on to score five consecutive to close out the match.
 
Lauren Martinez added seven kills and a block of her own while Amanda Lake would add seven digs.
 
Tomorrow at noon will be the Rattlers' final home match of the season as they host Oklahoma Panhandle State on Senior Day.
