SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Volleyball celebrated the careers of seniors Megan Isbell and Rachael Scicchitano with a decisive Senior Day victory over Oklahoma Panhandle State.
The Rattlers blanked the Aggies 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at Bill Greehey Arena, as the senior Scicchitano led the way with 15 assists and fellow senior Isbell posted a team-high .571 hitting percentage.
The Rattlers honored seniors Megan Isbell and Rachael Scicchitano.
Lauren Martinez led the way with nine kills, followed by Channing Hankins' eight and Shelley Chapron's six, as the Rattlers (12-12, 5-6 Heartland Conference) wrapped up Breast Cancer Awareness Weekend wearing their pink uniforms.
Bree Perry added 14 assists for the Snakes, and Hankins had nine digs followed by Scicchitano's eight.
The victory helped keep the Rattlers in the thick of the playoff hunt, where they trail Newman and St. Edward's by two in the loss column — and just one in the win column — for the third or fourth seed. The top four teams will advance to next month's Heartland Conference Championship tournament.
The Rattlers will return to action Tuesday, when they take on Huston-Tillotson in nonconference action in Austin, Texas. The match will tip at 6 p.m.
