Rattlers drop 1-0 contest to #3 St. Edward's

AUSTIN, Texas — St. Mary's Men's Soccer couldn't counter a first-half strike from No. 3-ranked St. Edward's, dropping their "Battle of the Saints" matchup 1-0 Thursday afternoon. 

Grant Mobley scored the go-ahead and eventual winning goal in the 18th minute, sneaking the one and only shot that would get past Rattler keeper Jack Moore. Moore and his defensive mates kept the Rattlers (5-9-2, 4-8-1) in the game with eight saves, as the Rattlers were outshot 15-3 in the game. 

Reis Woolley, Rafael Ortiz Salas and Ryan Hoskins led the Snakes with one shot attempt apiece. 

St. Mary's will finish the season at home against Texas A&M International on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
