Strong effort from Hankins, Grace not enough against Trinity

SAN ANTONIO —Despite 13 kills from Channing Hankins and Tarine Grace, the St. Mary's Rattlers fell to the cross-town Trinity Tigers 3-1 on the road.
 
After dropping the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-22, the Rattlers battled back, taking the third set 25-20, before losing the fourth set 25-18.
 
Grace added a match-high six blocks while Hankins contributed 10 digs. Amanda Lake posted 14 digs to go along with two service aces.
 
The setting tandem of Erin Roou and Rachael Scicchitano combined for 42 of the team's 45 assists.
 
St. Mary's will return to Heartland Conference action on the road against Dallas Baptist on Oct. 20.
