SAN ANTONIO — In their second match in three days, the St. Mary's Rattlers lost to the Dallas Baptist Patriots 2-0 at Sigma Beta Chi Field on Saturday afternoon.

The Rattlers managed to work a scoreless first half against the defending Heartland Conference Champions. In the first 45 minutes, both teams tallied three shots with the Rattlers' freshman keeper, Erin Longford recording a pair of saves. Taylor Durham, Heather Dawson and Paige Meyer each recorded one shot each.

Then, in the 57th minute, the Patriots struck with a goal off a cross that set up a volley into the far corner of the net, out of the reach of Longford.

Seven minutes later, the Patriots got an insurance goal after recovering a rebound in front of the net, putting the match out of reach for the Rattlers.

Longford would finish with a match-high five saves with Meyer and Rachel Gurinsky placing one shot on goal each.

Next, the Rattlers will visit Our Lady of the Lake in an all-San Antonio matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 4.
