SAN ANTONIO — The Rattlers remain undefeated in the new calendar year with their 71-49 victory at home against Rogers State on Saturday.

St. Mary's led for all but the first 2:18 when the Hillcats scored the opening basket. The Rattlers defense held RSU to only six first quarter points, outscoring the visitors 22-6.

Dezirae Elias (Sr., Chandler, Ariz.) scored eight of her 22 points in the opening frame, knocking down a pair of three-pointers. Elias would go on to lead the Rattlers with three steals while adding four rebounds. Kiara Etheridge (Jr., San Antonio) poured in 10 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the win.

Once again catalysts off the bench were Mariah Lee (Sr., Houston, Texas) who finished with 13 points and four rebounds and Haley Richter (Sr., Hondo, Texas) who knocked in a pair of triples for six points.

With the victory, the Rattlers improve to 5-1 in conference play, 11-3 overall, as they continue to push their way towards securing a postseason berth in March.

Next, they will travel to Odessa, Texas to face Texas-Permain Basin on Jan. 14.
