Rattlers keep rolling with win over UTPB

ODESSA, Texas — With a 71-56 win over the Texas-Permian Basin Falcons Thursday night, the St. Mary's Rattlers have now won five consecutive contests dating back to Dec. 31.
 
Victory did not come as easy as expected when UTPB trimmed the Rattlers 13 point halftime lead down to two heading into the fourth quarter. St. Mary's responded by holding the Falcons to single-digit scoring in the final period, outscoring them 22-9.
 
Four Rattlers scored double figures with LaBraile Fields (Jr., Augusta, Georgia) leading the way with 17 points. Fields added five rebounds and four steals in the victory.
 
Arysia Porter (Fr., San Antonio) was superb, collecting a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds while Kiara Etheridge (Jr., San Antonio) was one board shy of her own with 14 points and nine rebounds.
 
Off the bench, Mariah Lee (Sr., Houston, Texas) poured in 14 points and four rebounds as she continues to impress and lead the second unit.
 
Saturday afternoon, the Rattlers will add another chapter to the Battle of the Saints rivalry as they take on St. Edward's in Austin, Texas.
