AUSTIN, Texas — St. Mary's could not overcome its poor shooting performance in the first half against St. Edward's, losing 71-52, ending the team's five game winning-streak Saturday afternoon.

It was a wire-to-wire victory for the rival Hilltoppers whom opened by scoring 10 unanswered points to start the game. The Rattlers were outscored 36-14 through the first two periods shooting less than 15 percent from the field on 4-of-28 shooting.

LaBraile Fields (Jr., Augusta, Georgia) led the Rattlers with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. With the performance, Fields has boosted her scoring average to 10.9 ppg. which is third best on the team.

Continuing her streak of scoring double-digits was Mariah Lee (Sr., Houston, Texas). With 13 points, five rebounds and three steals, Lee has now scored 10 or more points in five straight games.

In addition, Kiara Etheridge (Jr., San Antonio) tacked on seven points and seven boards in the loss.

The Rattlers will look to bounce back when they visit Texas A&M International on Jan. 21.
