@StMUwsoccer shuts out Dustdevils, 1-0

SAN ANTONIO — Capping a weekend filled with soccer at Sigma Beta Chi Field, St. Mary's (4-2-0) defeated Texas A&M International (1-5-0) Monday afternoon, 1-0.
 
The victory marks the second straight clean sheet for the Rattlers as both Alyssa Taramona (Sr., Forney, Texas) and Caitlin McCarrell (So., Flower Mound, Texas) combined for the shutout.
 
In the 17th minute, Kristal Williams (Jr., Ponder, Texas) led Lauren Peck (Sr., San Antonio) with a ball up the middle leading to the lone goal of the match.
 
St. Mary's dominated the match against the Dustdevils, outshooting their opponents 21-4.
 
TAMIU had opportunities late to equalize the match, only to be denied by the Rattler defense.
 
Thursday will be the fourth match of a five match homestand for St. Mary's as it takes on Our Lady of the Lake at 7 p.m.
