No. 13 Women's Tennis to host WNMU in South Central Regional

SAN ANTONIO — No. 13-ranked St. Mary's Women's Tennis will host the NCAA Division II South Central Regional for the second straight year, it was announced Tuesday night by the NCAA.

The top-seeded Rattlers (19-1) will host fourth-seeded Western New Mexico (12-11) Saturday at a to-be-determined time at the Rohrbach Stadium Tennis Complex inside The Park at St. Mary's. This will mark the first meeting between the teams this season.

The winner of the match will advance to the NCAA Sweet 16 in Surprise, Ariz.

Midwestern State will host St. Edward's in the other South Central Regional, where the winner will also advance to the national tournament.

Winners of 18 straight, the Rattlers are looking for their second consecutive trip to the Sweet 16, having advanced there last season after defeating Cameron in the regional round.

St. Mary's won the Heartland Conference postseason championship last weekend with a 5-1 victory over St. Edward's in Dallas.
