Rattlers top OLLU for 14th straight victory

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Tennis defeated crosstown foe Our Lady of the Lake 6-0 Tuesday at the campus of OLLU in San Antonio.

The women combined to lose only three games on their way to the sweep of the Saints. Kerry Wiegand (Jr., San Antonio) and Joanie Bryant (Jr., San Antonio) both were victorious in singles action and also combined to win at No. 2 doubles.

For the sixth time this year, Mariana Rong (Sr., Jinan, China) was named Heartland Conference Player of the Week earlier this week, and she teamed with Cristina Lopez (Jr., San Antonio), who made her return to the lineup to win at No. 1 doubles. Other notable victories on the day came from Jamie Lee Denton (Jr., San Angelo, Texas) and Kaylin Kruseman (Fr., Houston, Texas) at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.

The Rattlers' record now stands at 15-1 on the season. They will return to play April 10 when they put their 14-match win streak on the line against conference rival Newman in Dallas.
