DENTON, Texas — A couple of grand slams greeted Texas Woman's as No. 10 St. Mary's Softball took over Pioneer Field to sweep Wednesday's doubleheader, winning 11-5 and run-ruling the night cap 10-1.

Vianna Gutierrez Touchtone, the reigning NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week, was the epitome of an all-around threat against the Pioneers as she dominated in the circle and at the plate.

Gutierrez Touchtone (Sr., San Antonio) picked up the complete-game victory on the hill to improve to 14-3 on the season and also led in the batter's box as she smacked a grand slam to help secure the win, leading with a team-high five RBIs.

The powerhouse senior went 3 for 4 at the plate with two runs scored in addition to her five RBIs and also picked up four strikeouts on the rubber.

Alex Rodriguez (Sr., Eagle Pass, Texas) followed Gutierrez Touchtone's lead in Game 2, recording a grand slam of her own to finish with five RBIs in the 10-1, run-rule victory.

The big fly marked Rodriguez's second grand slam and second homer on the season.

Rodriguez's huge performance was coupled with a strong performance from Haley Richter (Sr., Hondo, Texas) as she went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

Hope Russell (Fr., Vidor, Texas) relished the win, tossing four innings with one earned run to improve to 11-4 on the season.

Fellow freshman Kristi Rangel (Kingsville, Texas) closed out the game, tossing two innings and allowing just two Pioneer hits.
