Greyhounds, shooting woes too much for Rattlers

By Brian Magloyoan | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's dropped its last non conference game of the year to Eastern New Mexico, 71-55, at Bill Greehey Arena Friday night.

The contest was a physical affair that saw the Ratters struggle to find a rhythm offensively as they were held to less than 27.5 percent shooting from the field. Both teams combined for 17 blocks and 54 fouls. St. Mary's shooting woes went beyond the field as the team shot .400 from the charity stripe.

Trey Hall (Jr., Grande Prairie, Texas) finished the night with 15 points and a team-high five steals. Hall spearheaded the Rattler defense as he has done thus far this season adding six rebounds and two blocks. Senior Kriston Minor (Huntsville, Texas) led the Rattlers with 19 points and seven boards. A.J. McGlown added 8 points off the bench on 3-of-6 shooting from the field.

This marks the first home loss for the Rattlers this season as they get set for conference play at home on Dec. 17 against Oklahoma Panhandle State. First they will travel to Kingville for a matchup against the Javalinas on Dec. 14.
