Minor adds another chapter to late-game heroics

SAN ANTONIO — There is nothing minor about Kriston Minor's play in the final minutes of close games as Missouri Western found out the hard way on last day of the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic Saturday afternoon.
 
With less than a minute to play and the Rattlers down one, Minor stepped up and drilled a three-pointer from the top of the key to give StMU the lead. Three free-throws from Trey Hall later sealed the Rattlers' fourth consecutive victory, finishing the weekend 2-0 in their annual tournament.
 
Minor (Sr., Huntsville, Texas) finished the day with 14 points and four rebounds while Hall (Jr., Grand Prairie, Texas) put up a double-double with a game-high 19 points and 10 boards to go along with three steals and three blocks.
 
St. Mary's trailed by as much as six in the final five minutes before rallying late courtesy of a strong defensive effort from Hall and Dimitri Peterson (Fr., San Antonio) who tallied four steals in the victory.
 
Bryce Smith (Sr., Corpus Christi, Texas) came up big off the bench with 12 points on 2-of-4 shooting from behind the arc.
 
Next for the Rattlers is a date with the Mustangs of Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas on Dec. 1.
