#13 Dallas Baptist derails @StMUwsoccer

DALLAS — Nationally ranked Dallas Baptist handed St. Mary's only its second conference loss since Oct. 1, defeating the Rattlers 3-1 at Patriot Soccer Field Thursday night.
 
In the 7th minute of the match, it looked as if the Rattlers were on their way to knocking off the No. 13 team in the nation after Heather Dawson (So., Waco, Texas) found the back of the net, giving the Rattlers the early advantage.
 
That was all the success the Rattlers found as the Patriots scored three unanswered goals over a 22-minute stretch that began late in the first half.
 
Brittney Lacek (Sr., Gillette, Wyo.) fired three shots on goal, spearheading the Rattlers' offensive attack as Lauren Peck (Sr., San Antonio) added a shot of her own while the goalkeeping tandem of Alyssa Taramona (Sr., Forney, Texas) and Caitlin McCarrell (So., Flower Mound, Texas) combined for six saves in the match.
 
The Rattlers will look to bounce back and finish the season strong as they prepare for the Heartland Conference Tournament that will be hosted by DBU. On Oct. 31, the Rattlers will conclude the regular season against St. Edward's with kickoff scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
