By Chad Peters | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Soccer wore pink well Thursday night, shutting out Rogers State 3-0 on Pink Out Night at Sigma Beta Chi Field.

The Rattlers, honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month with their alternate uniforms, saw a first-half from Haleigh Lombardo put them in the lead and a pair of second-half goals from Kristal Williams secure the victory.

Williams, who scored on her only two shots, netted her fifth and sixth goals of the season. The shutout marked St. Mary's sixth of the season, and its third straight victory overall.

St. Mary's improved to 8-3 on the season, including 3-1 in Heartland Conference play.

The Rattlers dominated possession throughout the game, outshooting the Hillcats (0-14, 0-7) 16-3. Goalkeepers Alyssa Taramona and Caitlin McCarrell combined for the shutout, while the defense in front of them prevented even a single shot from going on goal.

St. Mary's will be back in action Saturday, when it takes on Oklahoma Christian at 2:30 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field. The Rattlers will celebrate Senior Day at halftime of the game.
