WICHITA, Kan. — Newman used a late hot streak to put away St. Mary's Volleyball in straight sets, winning 3-0 in Heartland Conference play at the Fugate Gymnasium.

Freshman Channing Hankins led the Rattlers (3-11, 1-5 in Heartland) with seven kills, but it wasn't enough on a night the Jets (13-4, 5-1) collectively outhit StMU by a percentage of .299-.079.

Tori Estrada led the Rattlers in digs with 23, while Hankins chipped in 10. Maddy Walsh, another freshman, led the way in assists with 23 and hitting percentage at .333.

Sets 1 and 2 were just as close early, with the score tied 22-22 in the first and 19-19 in the second until the Jets pulled away in both.
