Women's Basketballs notches comeback victory over St. Edward's

AUSTIN, Texas — Another second half spurt had Women's Basketball trump rival St. Edward's Saturday, 74-66.
 
The comeback win has the Rattlers in the No. 3 spot in the Heartland Conference with a 17-8 overall record and 12-7 conference record.
 
The Rattlers have already clinched their dance to the Heartland Conference tournament and are now hoping to end their season in the highest seed possible.
 
St. Mary's will end its regular-season with its final game against No. 1 Texas A&M International at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bill Greehey Arena.
 
Winning against the Hilltoppers remains the only thing head coach Jason Martens knows, as he is now 18-0 on his career against St. Edward's since he took over as head coach eight seasons ago.
 
The big win had three Rattlers in double figures with Jackie Woods (Sr., San Antonio) and Morgan Pullins (Jr., Franklin, Mich.) leading with 22 points apiece. Pullins also effective on defense, recording a team-high five steals.
 
Freshman sensation Kiara Etheridge (San Antonio) recorded her first career double-double against the Hilltoppers with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
 
The Hilltoppers had the momentum in first frame, leading by as much as 10 with 1:29 remaining and going into the half up by nine, 38-29.
 
The Rattlers quickly got back in the game from the start of the second half, bringing it within one five minutes in and went on a 8-2 run in the final three minutes of the game to seal the victory.
 
The Rattlers end their regular season on Senior Day at 1 p.m. Saturday against TAMIU at Bill Greehey Arena.
