SAN ANTONIO — There's nothing better than opening up the season with a win. And when you can do it against cross-town rival Incarnate Word? Well, there's not a much better way to kick off a new campaign.
That's how St. Mary's Women's Tennis opened up its 2014 spring schedule, downing NCAA Division I UIW 4-3 at the Mabry Tennis Center.
All-American
Mariana Rong provided the winning point with a third-set breaker win over Ivana Katavic, 6-4, 4-6, 10-6.
Cristina Lopez and
Felicity Delgado also provided victories in singles play, while the duos of
Mariana Rong/
Ariana Saldana and
Felicity Delgado/
Cristina Lopez both proved victorious in doubles play.
