GOODWELL, Okla. — St. Mary's Women's Basketball picked up its first Heartland Conference win of the season over Oklahoma Panhandle State Thursday night, finishing out the win 74-65 to overcome second-half troubles of fouls and turnovers.

The win marked the Rattlers' fifth straight victory, improving them to 7-2 on the season and 1-0 in league play.

The conference's leading scorer and rebounder Morgan Pullins (Sr., Franklin., Mich.) quickly started off the victory, scoring 10 points just seven minutes into the game and went into the half with 15 along with six rebounds.

Pullins ended the night with 26 points and 11 rebounds followed by Kiara Etheridge (So., San Antonio) who chipped in 10 points and led with five assists.  Dezirae Elias (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) recorded eight points and Kealani Marquez (Fr., San Antonio) recorded seven points along with three steals.

Elias, who is currently No. 3 in the nation in steals per game, added five more steals to her season total now set at 45, for a team-high against the Aggies.

Emily Troell (Jr., Destin., Fla.) added a superior night on the boards, setting a career-high nine rebounds while Jade Brady (Fr., San Antonio) recorded her first collegiate points, ending with five points and four rebounds.

The Rattlers went into the half up with a sizable lead, 43-25, but saw the Aggies surge back in the final frame but the Rattlers closed out for the victory despite getting in some foul, and turnover trouble that enabled the Aggies (2-8, 0-1 in conference) to pick up their offensive game.

Two Rattlers fouled out in the final frame that saw the Aggies make it game as they came back from a 28-point deficit to bring within 10 with under a minute remaining, outscoring the Rattlers 40-31 in the second half as the Snakes committed 14 turnovers.

But the Rattlers were able to close it out for the win with the help of Pullins who picked up five points and four rebounds in the final minutes of the game.

The Rattlers continue on their conference road trip, facing Lubbock Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lubbock, Texas.
