Rattlers sweep OLLU to avenge earlier loss

SAN ANTONIO — The Rattlers avenged their loss earlier this season to Our Lady of the Lake with a resounding 3-0 victory over the Saints on the road Monday night.

St. Mary's set the tone with a 25-14 first-set victory, and took the following sets 25-21, 25-23 to win the match and improve to 7-7 on the season.

Freshman Tarine Grace had a game-high 14 kills with a .407 hitting percentage, while Kalyn Guthrie led the Rattlers with 32 assists. Victorria Martinez, the program's all-time career digs leader, added 19 digs in the three-set match.

Melissa Heft had nine kills and hit .333, and Kelsey Huber added seven kills and 10 digs.

The Rattlers will resume Heartland Conference action on Thursday, when they travel to Odessa, Texas to take on Texas-Permian Basin at 7 p.m. St. Mary's is tied for fourth place with Dallas Baptist in the league standings with a 4-4 record.
