FORT SMITH, Ark. — In its regular-season finale, St. Mary' Volleyball got a sneak peek of what it will be contending with at next week's Heartland Conference Tournament.
St. Mary's wrapped up the regular season with a 3-0 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith, the same squad it will open next week's postseason tournament against.
The Lions, who will host the tournament as the top seed and regular-season champion, will take on the No. 4-seeded Rattlers in Friday's semifinals at a time to be determined.
On Saturday,
Jenna Paul led St. Mary's with seven kills, and
Melissa Heft and
Kelsey Huber added six apiece as the Lions prevailed 25-16, 25-21, 25-17.
Victorria Martinez paced St. Mary's with 21 digs, while
Rachael Scicchitano and
Mikayla Bass led with 13 assists each.
UAFS's Jordan Erz had a match-high 13 kills.
