DALLAS — Kelsey Huber recorded nine kills and nearly hit .300 for the St. Mary's volleyball team Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Rattlers dropped a 3-0 match to Dallas Baptist.

The loss secured the Rattlers the No. 4 seed in next week's Heartland Conference Tournament, which will be hosted by Arkansas-Fort Smith in Fort Smith, Ark., beginning Friday, Nov. 22 and concluding Saturday, Nov. 23.

St. Mary's (14-13, 10-7 Heartland Conference) can still tie Dallas Baptist (11-6) with a victory in Saturday's regular-season finale against UA Fort Smith, but DBU holds the tiebreaker by virtue of sweeping the series.

DBU came out on fire Thursday, winning 25-15 and 25-12 before St. Mary's fought back in the third, only to fall 25-23. The Patriots' Erika Papadeas had a game-high 13 kills and was one of three DBU players in double figures.

For St. Mary's, the squad hit just .111 and committed 19 errors. Four-time Heartland Conference Libero of the Week Victorria Martinez had a game-high 19 digs, while Mkayla Bass led the Rattlers with 16 assists.
