Marie Ricks takes over as the head athletic trainer in 2022 after working in both 2020 and 2021 as an outreach athletic trainer for the Rattlers.

Ricks worked with the athletic training room through an outreach agreement with Methodist Hospital Orthopedic, where she also worked with middle schools, high schools and other colleges in the San Antonio area. She helped with evaluations, treatments and rehabilitations of student-athletes.
 
Prior to Methodist, Ricks served as an athletic trainer at UTSA, working primarily with cross country, track & field and cheer. 
 
She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and has certifications in athletic training, BLS CPR and AED and is licensed through the state of Texas.
 
A graduate of UIW in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Ricks is a San Antonio native.
