Dakota Fernandez was hired as an assistant coach for the Men's and Women's Tennis teams on July 1, 2025.
Fernandez spent two years at Texas State as a graduate assistant coach, spending time in all areas with the women’s team, helping the Bobcats to a 16-6 record a season ago. He also had a four-month fellowship with the USTA in the Tennis Coaching and Leadership Program, receiving mentoring and professional engagement by the USTA staff and national-level coaches and mental skills specialists.
He played tennis at both Alcorn State and Mount St. Mary’s, earning his bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship/business administration from Alcorn State in 2023. He graduated from Texas State in 2025 with his master’s degree in exercise sport science with a strength & conditioning and sport coaching concentration.
