Last season, the Rattlers were 9-6-3 overall, dropping a 1-0 overtime heartbreaker to Texas Woman’s in the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals. Junior forward Elena Kossler took the league by storm, earning Newcomer and Forward of the Year, as well as First-Team All-Conference, First-Team All-Region and Academic All-District honors. Senior midfielder Shelby Paniagua was also named to the All-Conference and All-Region First Team, wrapping up a standout career in which she broke the school record in shots (218) and finished fifth in goals (29), tied for second in assists (24), and fifth in points (82). She also tied for seventh with six game-winning goals.

The 2024 Rattlers finished 9-7-3 and advanced to the Lone Star Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. Paniagua earned First Team All-LSC and D2CCA All-Region honors for the second consecutive season, while goalkeeper Rebecca Difronzo completed a record-setting career as the program leader in saves (294), shutouts (20), and minutes played in goal (6,636).

In 2023, St. Mary’s posted an 11-6-5 record, reached the Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship match, and returned to the NCAA Tournament. Paniagua became the first NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer All-American in program history, earning D2CCA Second Team All-American honors. Jackie Miller, Paniagua, and Sydney Varela were named First Team All-LSC selections.

The Rattlers finished 12-5-4 in 2022, advancing to the Lone Star Conference Tournament semifinals and qualifying for the NCAA Tournament. Megan Copeland and Juni Ejere earned First Team All-LSC and All-Region honors, while freshmen Shelby Paniagua and Sydney Varela were recognized on the conference All-Freshman Team.

Driggs’ first two seasons at St. Mary’s were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, with the 2020 season played in spring 2021. Despite the challenges, he led the Rattlers to their first Lone Star Conference Tournament appearance and first postseason berth since 2016. The team followed with a 9-7-2 campaign in 2021 and a second consecutive appearance in the conference tournament.

Before joining St. Mary’s, Driggs spent five seasons at West Texas A&M University, including his final year as Associate Head Coach. During his tenure, the Lady Buffs captured the 2018 Lone Star Conference Championship, won a South Central Regional title, and recorded a program-best 14-match unbeaten streak.

Prior to the collegiate ranks, Driggs enjoyed a highly successful career at La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leading the Bears to two New Mexico Class 6A State Championships. He also served as the Girls Academy Director for New Mexico Rush Soccer Club from 2008-2015.

Driggs holds a USSF “A” License and a U.S. Soccer National Youth License. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from New Mexico Highlands University, completing his master’s degree in counseling in 2016.

Kevin and his wife, Jacqueline, reside in San Antonio with their three children.
