Connor McCarthy set the standard of excellence bar high in his first season (2023-24) as the St. Mary's Director of Golf, leading the Women's team to the finals of the NCAA National Championship, where the team lost in a playoff hole. The Men responded in 2024-25 with a trip to the NCAA National Championship, where they lost in the quarterfinals.
Both the Men's and Women's teams are nationally-ranked to begin McCarthy's third season in 2025-26. The Women's team has had three student-athletes earn five All-American honors in two seasons in Savannah Dupre (2025 1st, 2024 HM), Libby Kilbride (2024 HM, 2025 HM) and Rebecca Reed (2024 2nd), while both Baptiste Touchard (3rd) and Guillaume Paquette (HM) earned All-American honors for the Men in 2025.
