Ronnie Ladines was tabbed as the interim Head Coach for the St. Mary’s Softball team on August 1, 2024, after serving as an assistant coach for the 2024 season.
Ladines was responsible for all aspects of the pitching game, scouting and travel during the 2024 campaign. Savannah Youngblood earned Second-Team All-Conference honors after posting a record of 11-3 in the circle with four saves in 35 appearances. She led the team with a 2.75 ERA and foes hit only .260 against her. Madeline Bloom and Breanna Ford also threw complete game shutouts for the Rattlers as the staff collected a 3.56 ERA in going 32-26. The team reached the NCAA Regionals after advancing to the semifinals of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
Ladines joined the Rattlers from across the city, where she was an assistant coach at UTSA for three seasons (2021-23). She also spent one season at Utah Valley and was a graduate assistant coach for two years at Akron. At UTSA, Ladines was responsible for the daily bullpen workouts, scouting, pitch calling in-game and travel. With the Wolverines, Ladines worked with the pitchers and catchers, scouting and game video, along with other duties.
Ladines graduated from Kent State in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. She was a pitcher for the Golden Flashes, earning All-Region honors twice. She was an eight-time MAC Pitcher of the Week and earned MVP honors of the conference tournament as a senior.
She appeared in 130 games in the circle for the Golden Flashes, pitching 75 complete games with a 62-37 record and seven saves. Ladines posted a career ERA of 2.81, striking out 622 with opponents hititng only .222 against her. She also hit .261 with 20 home runs and a .479 slugging percentage throughout her four years.
Ladines earned her master’s degree in exercise physiology/adult fitness from Akron in 2019.
She also spent the 2018 season playing for the American Softball Association, helping the Mobile, Alabama, team win the inaugural tournament in the league.
