One of the most dominant pitchers in NAIA history, St. Mary's pitching coach Leticia Morales-Bissaro has continued to give back to her alma mater in a variety of ways. Morales-Bissaro enters her 26th season as the pitching coach in 2022, and she also serves as the associate director of the graduate admissions department on campus.
During her storied tenure, the Rattlers have won 18 conference titles, four regionals titles and the 2002 NCAA National Championship. She has helped four different pitchers win the league Pitcher of the Year title a total of nine times after she herself won MVP Honors at the 1986 NAIA Softball Championship - which she and the Rattlers won.
Morales-Bissaro holds the school records in both career ERA, with a 0.70 over 690.1 innings, as well as opponent batting average at .153. She collected a career record of 64-40 where 45 of her 64 wins were via the shutout.
She and her husband, Dino Bissaro, have two grown children, Maricela - who played softball for the Rattlers from 2011-14, and son, Alessandro, who was a member of the St. Mary's golf team. Her number, 24, is retired and the last player to wear it was her daughter, Maricela.
