Entering her fifth season and the sport’s first as an NCAA Championship sport in 2027, the Rattlers hope to continue their stretch of advancing to the national tournament.
In 2026, St. Mary’s won its first-ever postseason game, defeating rival Texas Woman’s in the Second Round, 24-16, before losing 18-16 in the Third Round to No. 7 Purdue Northwest. The Rattlers finished 10-13 overall, but were 6-2 in Lone Star Conference play, earning the two-seed at the LSC Championship. Nine Rattlers were named to the CSCA Academic Honor Roll, and Alecka Brown earned a spot on the San Antonio Spurs Hype Squad upon her graduation.
The Rattlers posted a 13-12 record in 2025, during which the team advanced to its third-straight national tournament. St. Mary’s also finished second at the Lone Star Conference Tournament in Dallas and saw nine student-athletes earn All-Conference honors, while Isabella Reyes was named the league’s Freshman of the Year. Brown, Guiliana Devora, Talisa Gomez, M’Lynn Griego, Izabella Grinnell, Sanaa Johnson, Courtney McClellan (2nd), Jocelyn Mendez (2nd), Yanelle Nicholson were all honored by the league.
The 2024 campaign saw the Rattlers qualify for Nationals for the second-straight season and finish second at the inaugural Lone Star Conference Championship. St. Mary’s had 10 student-athletes named to the Lone Star All-Conference teams, five on the First Team and five on the Second Team. Brown, McClellan, Mendez, backspot/tumbler Allysin Quintanilla and backspot Isabel Soto were all named to the First Team. The Rattlers also had a quartet voted to the All-Academic team in Sanaa Johnson, Alex Nicholson, Sydnye Forde-Richins and Riley Smith.
In 2023, she and the Rattlers took the STUNT world by storm, becoming the only First Year program to qualify for Nationals, earning the No. 7 seed. The team was 4-2 in the Southwest Conference. A trio of Rattlers earned All-American honors in Yanelle Nicholson (First Team), Sanaa Johnson (Second Team) and Alecka Brown (honorable mention).
VanTimmeren has been extremely involved in helping STUNT become an NCAA Sport and helped the Lone Star Conference become only the second league to sponsor a championship.
VanTimmeren was a two-time STUNT National Champion at Davenport, a two-time All-American as well as a winner of the NCA National Championship in Cheer.
Prior to Davenport, she competed in both cheer and track & field at Lewis University.
