  • Drug Free Sport: Drug Free Sport is the official drug testing institution that St. Mary’s University and the NCAA utilized for its drug testing. This website is also helpful in advice on possible banned prescription/over-the-counter medications and supplements. If you have any questions regarding any of these, please consult your athletic trainer.
  • MRSA: MRSA is a dangerous infection that can spread within your body, as well as from person to person, very quickly. Please visit the Center for Disease Control and Prevention for more information on MRSA.
  • NCAA Banned Substance Classes: Due to the increasing numbers of banned substances, NCAA has comprised a list of banned drug classes. These classes do no list specific drugs, but rather list general classes. It is the sole responsibility of student-athletes to know where or not any medications or supplements contain banned substances by the NCAA.
  • Medical Hardship Waivers: NCAA Bylaw 14.4.3.5 Hardship Waiver. A student-athlete may be granted an additional year of competition by the conference or the Student-Athlete Reinstatement Committee for reasons of "hardship." Hardship is defined as an incapacity resulting from an injury or illness that has occurred under all of the following conditions:
