2015 (Senior): Had a tremendous final season, becoming well-awarded … Earned Daktronics and NCBWA All-Region Second Team selections along with an All-Conference First Team selection and a spot on the conference All-Tournament Team …. Won the Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week award three times during the season … Was one of the team’s power hitters, batting .358 with a team-high 51 runs, 13 doubles, two triples and a team-high six home runs … Tallied 49 RBIs on the season, tying the team-high, with a team-high .524 slugging and .426 on-base percentage ... Totaled a team-high 111 bases … Again showed his strength in base stealing, swiping 21 bags in 22 attempts to lead the team … Totaled four sacrifice flies and two sacrifice hits … In left field, had 82 putouts with one assists and two errors for a .976 fielding percentage … Started all of his 53 games played, leading the team with 76 hits on the season … Set the program record for career highest stolen base percentage at .895 (51-57), ending his career with 51 stolen bases to finish No. 9 in the program’s career stolen bases record and No. 7 in stolen base attempts with 57 … Had 23 multiple-hit games and 14 multiple-RBI games.

2014 (Junior):  Was huge in his first season as the Rattlers’ leadoff man and right fielder, earning an All-Conference Second Team selection … Was one of only two Rattlers to start all of the 55-game season … Became one of the program’s better base stealers, picking up 30 stolen bases on the season to tie the program’s single-season stolen bases record … Recorded a team-high 80 total bases with a team-high 48 runs scored … Led the team in doubles with 14 and triples with five while also recording one home run … Had 21 RBIs and a .432 slugging percentage, the second-highest on the team, and a team-high .429 on-base percentage … Drew a team-high 44 walks with one sac fly and six sacrifice hits … In the field, had a .974 fielding percentage with 105 putouts, seven assists and three errors.

Texas State University: Played two seasons under head coach Ty Harrington as an outfielder … As a freshman, started 39 of the 46-game season, batting .230 with 19 RBIs and going 8-9 in stolen base attempts … As a sophomore, recorded a .952 fielding percentage.
 
High School: Was a two-sport letterman, earning letters in baseball and golf … Awarded numerous honors under head coach Mark Johnson on the diamond, including being named First Team All-State and First Team All-Region three times and Region MVP twice … Recorded the highest batting average in the state of Utah at .574 and was Top 5 All-Time in batting average and doubles (17) for the state.

Personal: Parents are Kelvin and Lori Orton … Has five siblings, Jackie, Mickelle, Bobbi, Lindsey and Jesse … Majoring in exercise and sport science.
