2013 (Redshirt Senior):  Cemented himself as one of the program’s best closers, setting the mark for career saves with 31 and career appearances with 84 … Had a strong presence on the mound, earning a 7-2 win-loss record with 10 saves, tying for 12th in the nation for season saves … His work made him an NCBWA All-America Honorable Mention … Tossed 38.1 innings with nine earned runs for a 2.11 ERA, earning him the fifth spot for career ERA at 2.56 (112.2 innings) … Recorded 21 strikeouts and a .207 opponent batting average to earn Daktronics All-South Central Region Second Team for the second straight season and All-Conference First Team for the second time in his career … His 28 appearances as a senior has him at second for single-season appearances, as he also did the same his junior season … His 10 saves is fourth best for single-season saves and still holds the No. 1 spot with 18 during his junior season. 

2012 (Redshirt Junior): Made huge strides in his third season, becoming the nation's leader in saves with 18 ... Became No. 1 in St. Mary's Record Books for most saves in a single season with 18 as well as No. 1 in career saves with 21 ... Is second in most apperances in a single season with 28, earned last season ....  Had the lowest ERA of the pitching staff with 1.04 in 34.2 innings pitched, striking out 34 and walking just eight, making him third in the record books for lowest ERA in a single season ... The closer is 10th in Career Records with most apperances with 56 ... His work on the mound made him a semi-finalist for the College Baseball Lineup Tino Martinez Award ... Was named to the All-South Central Region Tournament Team, was a Second Team selection for the Daktronic All-South Central Region Team and the All-Heartland Conference Second Team.

2011 (Redshirt Sophomore): Stepped back onto the mound with a fresh arm after his redshirt season, throwing for a 4.5 ERA ... Made 13 apperances for nine strikeouts ... Pitched 12 innings with six earned runs.

2010 (Sophomore): Redshirt season.

2009 (Freshman): Had a breakout first season with the Rattlers, earning first team All-Heartland Conference as a freshman... Was 2-4 with a 4.23 ERA and 3 saves in 15 games... Allowed just 6 runs in 21.1 innings out of the bullpen... Picked up a save in his second appearance, tossing 1.2 perfect innings against St. Edward's (2/20)... Earned his first win as a Rattler against Texas A&M-Kingsville (3/31).

High School: Was a standout for coach Preston Rogers at Stevens High School... Threw a no-hitter against Clark High School as a senior in 2008.

Personal: Parents are Rick and Letty Perez... Has two siblings: Marissa and Marcela ... Majoring in political science and pre-law.
