• The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team returns home to host a pair of matches in Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday at 2 p.m. and No. 22 Angelo State on Monday at 2 p.m. After the conclusion of the match on Friday, the Rattlers will be hosting a free tennis clinic, along with a raffle for some terrific tennis prizes.
• The Rattlers are one of three LSC teams still undefeated in league play, joining #22 Angelo State (3-0) and #36 UT Tyler (2-0). St. Mary's is 3-0 with wins over Cameron (5-2), Sul Ross State (7-0) and Western New Mexico (7-0).
• St. Mary's is 10-1 all-time against Texas A&M-Kingsville, with a 6-0 record at home, and they've won the last five over the Javelinas. StMU is also 6-2 all-time against Angelo State with a 4-0 record at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium. Last year, the Rattlers clawed out a 4-3 win in San Angelo.
• The doubles tandem of Gia Posito and Alessia Terlizzi is ranked 33rd in the nation in the ITA rankings as of April 1. The pair is 13-3 this season with a 7-2 record in duals after going 6-1 in the fall.
• With her hard-fought, three-set win on Friday at Western New Mexico, junior Selina Wu became the first Rattler this season to 20 victories, and backed it up with her 21st on Saturday. She is 13-2 this spring after posting a record of 8-3 in the fall season. Senior Gia Posito is second on the team with 18 wins, while both Isabella Olsson and Alessia Terlizzi have 17 victories.
• Senior Gia Posito is the only Rattler to have competed in all 16 doubles matches this season, and she leads the club with a 13-3 dual record and is 22-4 overall. Both Alessia Terlizzi and Selina Wu have 17 doubles victories in 2025-26.
• Senior Alessia Terlizzi was named the LSC Singles Tennis Player of the Week on March 18 after winning both matches at number 1, including a dominating 6-0, 6-2 win over Division I Lamar. It was the first weekly award of her career.
• Senior Gia Posito and junior Selina Wu were named the Lone Star Conference doubles team of the week on Feb. 12 after starting the season 5-0 in both singles and doubles. The pair knocked off the number one doubles team from Division I Eastern Washington 6-2, for the lone doubles win, and then won at No. 5 and No. 1, respectively.
• Five Rattlers were named to the Lone Star Commissioner's Honor Roll at the conclusion of the fall semester, and Madalyn Smelley recorded a perfect 4.00 GPA. Janel Ospanova, Gia Posito, Alessia Terlizzi and Sarah Wooten were also honored on the team.
• Gia Posito and Alessia Terlizzi advanced to the doubles final at the ITA South Central Regional before losing to the Midwestern State team in the finals. The pair went 4-1 over the tournament, only dropping eight games in their four wins.
