SAN ANTONIO — The No. 17 St. Mary's University Baseball team's comeback fell short in game two as they dropped both games of a doubleheader to #RV Angelo State on Saturday, 11-1 and 7-5.

Frank Kellner shook up his lineup for game two, putting senior
Garrett Brooks (Spring Branch, Texas) in the leadoff spot, and the right fielder walked three times, setting the table for the rest of the Rattlers (12-5). Senior
Jacob King (San Antonio) hit sixth, going 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored, while junior
Dillon Lopez (San Antonio) was 1-for-3 out of the three-hole with a sacrifice fly.
In game one, King and junior
Ashton Beaird (San Antonio) each had one of the two hits for the team, and
Brandon Ermis (San Antonio) scored the lone run after drawing a walk and scoring from second on Beaird's single through the left side of the infield in the seventh inning.
Senior
Kaleb Gauna (Hondo, Texas) fell to 0-2 on the season, starting in game one. He pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up two runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts.
Matthew Janecek (Houston) took the loss in game two. He surrendered six runs on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings in his first decision of the season.
The Rattlers hope to end the series on a high note, beginning the final game against the Rams at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
