SAN ANTONIO — Points were at a premium on Saturday afternoon inside Bill Greehey Arena, as the St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team outlasted Angelo State, 47-43.
Both teams shot under 40 percent in the physical game, but the Rattlers (17-7, 10-6) held the lead throughout and won their second straight contest.
Prior to the start of the game, St. Mary's honored its senior class in
Olaverr Camacho (Barberena, Santa Rosa, Guatemala),
Damani Claxton (Bronx, N.Y.),
Sebastian Mendoza (Riverside, Calif.),
Eddie McPhee (Denver, Colo.), and
Wayne Wiggins (Mansfield, Texas).
Claxton led the game with 13 points and three assists, while Camacho recorded his fifth double-double of the year, scoring 10 and tying for game-high honors with 11 rebounds. He also blocked two shots.
