DENTON, Texas — The St. Mary's University Volleyball team finished the LSC Preview with a split, getting swept by DBU on Friday evening, 30-32, 19-25, 17-25 at Kitty Magee Arena on the campus of Texas Woman's.
Senior
Landri Withers (Stephenville, Texas) led the Rattlers (3-7) in kills for the second-straight night, narrowly missing another double-double with 14 kills and nine digs. Senior
Laurene Robinson (Bedford, Texas) posted the second double-double of her career with 12 kills and 14 digs, bettering her career-high in digs from earlier this year against Fairmont State.

Haleigh Wilk (Salado, Texas) also collected her third double-double of the year with 22 assists and 13 digs, and senior libero
Alyssa Koehl (New Braunfels, Texas) led the team with 15 digs. Senior
Landry Cate (Hot Springs, Ark.) was in on all four blocks for the Rattlers in the match.
The Rattlers dug themselves out of a 10-point deficit in the first set, 13-3, to force extra points, but the Patriots were able to rattle off three straight for the 32-30 win. StMU saved three set points from 24-20 to tie the score at 24-24 on a kill by Robinson, an ace by Withers and a block by Cate and Robinson.
Taylor Alston (San Antonio), Robinson and Withers each had five kills, while Koehl had seven digs to help fuel the comeback.
There were five ties and two lead changes in the second set, as Withers paced the team with four kills, and Wilk led with five digs. The third set was also a back-and-forth affair, seeing 12 ties and five lead changes before DBU scored the final six points of the match. Robinson and Withers each totaled four kills, and Robinson led all players with eight digs.
St. Mary's begins Lone Star Conference play on the road next week, traveling to No. 13 Angelo State and UT Permian Basin on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
