SAN ANTONIO — A pair of recent St. Mary's University Men's Basketball graduates did not waste any time on furthering their playing careers, and are playing in leagues in their home countries.

Lachlan Bofinger, who earned NABC All-Region Second Team and Lone Star All-Conference First Team honors as a senior in 2025 for the Rattlers, is playing for the Northern Suburbs Bears in the Australian NBL One (second division). He's averaging 6.0 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in his first four games with the Bears.

The Bears play at the North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre, located in Bofinger's hometown of Sydney, Australia. He grabbed a season-best six rebounds on May 31 against the Newcastle Falcons and scored 12 points against Maitland on June 1, sinking all four of his field goal attempts with a 4-for-5 performance at the free throw line.

Diego Gonzalez, a native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is also playing in his hometown after leaving the Rattlers. He is playing for Capitanes de Arecibo in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) League. The Capitanes are in third place in the standings with a 15-13 record, and Gonzalez is averaging 3.1 points and 1.1 assists per game. He has played in 20 of the team's 28 games thus far.

The Capitantes are in the first-tier level professional league. Gonzalez scored a season-high 10 points in under 17 minutes against the Gigantes de Carolina with a season-high four rebounds. Nine days later he recorded a season-high six assists against Leones De Ponce in a win.

Nikau McCullough, who played at St. Mary's from 2016-19 is also playing in the Australian NBL One (second division) league. He is having a stellar season for the Northside Wizards, averaging 14.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game. The Wizards and Bears are in separate divisions, so the two former Rattlers wouldn't meet until the playoffs.
