SAN ANTONIO — Following a thrilling run to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament last season, the St. Mary's University Rattlers Men's Basketball team is poised for another championship-caliber campaign. Head coach
Bubba Meyer and the Rattlers announced their 2025–26 regular-season schedule, which features 16 home games, and a loaded non-conference slate.
The Rattlers open the season at home on Friday, November 14, against Regis as part of the South Central Regional Crossover, followed by a Sunday showdown with Colorado School of Mines—both hosted at Bill Greehey Arena. These early games set the tone for a competitive non-conference schedule aimed at boosting postseason positioning.
St. Mary's plays its first seven games at home, including matchups against Southeastern Oklahoma State (Nov. 20), MSU Denver (Nov. 22), and Sul Ross State (Nov. 26), before heading into a busy December that includes a pair of neutral-site games in the River City Holiday Classic at Northside Sports Gym. There, the Rattlers will take on Central Oklahoma(Dec. 16) and Fort Lewis (Dec. 17), while eight other teams play inside Bill Greehey Arena, as the 16-team tournament takes over San Antonio.
The Lone Star Conference schedule begins in earnest in January with a mix of tough road trips and key home games, including a New Year's weekend homestand against Midwestern State (Jan. 2) and Lubbock Christian (Jan. 4). A challenging stretch closes out January with five of six games on the road before the Rattlers return to San Antonio to host UT Permian Basin (Feb. 12) and Angelo State (Feb. 14).
The regular season ends against rival St. Edward's on February 26 in the second portion of the annual Battle of the Saints.
All home games will be played at Bill Greehey Arena and are expected to show the San Antonio community the best of Division II basketball.
In league action, all Thursday night games will begin at approximately 7:30 p.m., while Saturday contests tip at 3 p.m. (except at DBU), or 25 minutes after the conclusion of the women's game, whichever is later.
Senior guard
Damani Claxton, who averaged 17.1 points per game and led the Rattlers with 49 steals, returns as the cornerstone of a veteran squad that combines athleticism, experience, and depth. With Claxton anchoring the backcourt and a host of returning contributors in
Lawyer Jones,
Eddie McPhee,
