LAWTON, Okla. — The No. 49 St. Mary's University Men's Tennis team lost in its penultimate regular season match, dropping a 5-2 decision at No. 50 Cameron on Thursday afternoon.

The Aggies (8-9, 3-4) quickly jumped out to an early lead after winning all three doubles sets.

"Cameron came out very aggressive in the doubles, and it continued on most of the singles courts," said Director of Tennis
Bill Macomb. "We're going to have to really get focused in the next day and make some coaching adjustments."

They stretched the lead to 3-0 with straight sets wins at lines one and two before the Rattlers (9-8, 4-3) jumped onto the scoreboard with a victory on court three. Senior
Alvaro Soler (Alicante, Spain) was broken in his first service game, but battled back to knot the score at 3-3, and won the final two games of the set for the 7-5 first set score. Soler carried the momentum into the second set, winning the first four games en route to a 6-1 final.

Freshman
Lincoln Baldonado (Glendale, Ariz.) was able to take the court after several other matches concluded, and made quick work at line six, winning 6-2, 6-2 to extend his winning streak to four-straight matches.

The Rattlers wrap up the regular season at No. 24 Midwestern State on Saturday at 2 p.m. StMU and the Mustangs are tied at 4-3 in the Lone Star Conference standings.
