Araceli Arevalo (Houston) pinch ran for Abrego and promptly stole second base. Sophomore
Gabriela Banda (San Antonio) grounded out to shortstop, advancing the runners, and Arevalo scored on a groundout by freshman
Miah Corona (Eddy, Texas) for the 3-0 score.

Â
With one out in the second inning, freshman
Jaylan Roberson (Elgin, Texas) recorded the first hit of her collegiate career, taking the pitch back up the middle. She stole second base and moved to third on a single to shortstop by senior

Lauren Gonzales (San Antonio) loaded the bases. Dela Rosa singled through the right side and when the catcher and Ramos collided at the plate, she scampered to third and Gonzales scored for the 3-0 lead. Tennill walked on five pitches, stole second and scored when Ayala blasted a home run over the fence in left center to double the lead to 6-0.
