SAN ANTONIO — The St. Mary's University Men's Tennis team won its first match of the 2025 dual season in shutout fashion, winning 7-0 against Schreiner on Saturday morning.

The Rattlers started strong, dropping only two games in the three doubles sets for the first point of the season. Freshmen
Lincoln Baldonado (Glendale, Ariz.) and
Justin Koth (Boerne, Texas) broke serve three times for the 6-0 victory at line three.

The number one team of freshman
Lucas Castillo Sanchez (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) and sophomore
Leonardo Fabbri (Faenza, Italy) and the two squad of junior
Bernhard Hauer (Vienna, Austria) and senior
Alvaro Soler (Alicante, Spain) each won by scores of 6-1.

In singles play, Castillo Sanchez dropped one game in each set for his 6-1, 6-1 victory at number three. Soler also only gave up two games, doing so in the second set for his 6-0, 6-2 win at line two. Baldonado clinched the victory for the Rattlers with his 6-3, 6-0 decision on court four.

On court one, Fabbri won 6-1, 6-2, while Koth posted a 6-0, 6-1 win at line six and sophomore
Louis Hein (Hamburg, Germany) concluded the morning with his 6-2, 6-2 victory at the sixth spot.

The Rattlers remain at home, hosting Jacksonville College at 1 p.m. on Monday.
