CANYON, Texas – After a heart-wrenching loss in game one, the St. Mary's University Softball team was unable to get any momentum in the nightcap, falling 7-6 and 4-0 to #2 West Texas A&M on Friday evening.

The Rattlers (19-16, 14-9 Lone Star Conference) scored five runs in the top of the seventh to take a 6-1 lead, however the Lady Buffs (29-3, 21-2 Lone Star) were able to score six and escape with the win. In the second game, both teams collected four hits but two errors by the Rattlers helped WT score four runs.

Freshman
Gabriela Banda (San Antonio) went 2-for-3 in the first game, while sophomore
Raegan Tennill (Corpus Christi, Texas) drove in three runs – all in the seventh inning – and senior
