AUSTIN — The magic shooting touch the St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team had on Tuesday, unfortunately, did not make the trip to Austin for the Battle of the Saints rematch on Thursday as the Hilltoppers won 94-68.
Â
Junior
Franklin Agu (London, England) led the Rattlers (12-16, 8-14 Lone Star Conference) with 16 points, while senior
Tyler Caron (Longview, Texas) added 14 and junior
Micah Jones (Durham, N.C.) came off the bench to score 11.Â
Â
Senior
Lachlan Bofinger (Sydney, Australia) brought down a game-high eight rebounds, while senior
Jalon Johnson (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) led the Rattlers with eight assists. Jones also had a game-high three steals.
Â
Like the Rattlers did on Tuesday night, the Hilltoppers (21-10, 14-8 Lone Star) jumped out to the early lead and never looked back, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 52.9 from the three-point line, draining 18 triples.Â
Â
The Rattlers say goodbye to seniors Caron, Johnson,
Edward Manuel (Lake Charles, La.),
Jaden Moore (Okinawa, Japan) and
Haik Tatevosyan (Los Angeles).
