RICHARDSON, Texas — For the second time this season, St. Mary's University junior
Johnny Thurbin has been named the Lone Star Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Thurbin, a junior from Lingfield, Surrey, England helped the Rattlers clinch the LSC regular season title with a five-save performance in a 1-0 win at DBU. It was his fourth consecutive shutout. On the unbeaten week, he made 11 saves. Thurbin took the league's top weekly goalkeeper award for the second time this season and went 364 minutes between allowing goals. He faced 18 shots in a 1-1 draw with West Texas A&M. Thurbin leads the conference with nine shutouts.
Thurbin and the Rattlers wrap up the regular season on Wednesday at Midwestern State and will host the LSC Tournament on Nov. 15 & 17.
