SAN ANTONIO – After three-straight one-possession losses, the St. Mary's University Men's Basketball team kept its positivity and posted an 87-69 victory over UT Tyler on Saturday afternoon.

The Rattlers are now 6-8 on the season and 2-6 in Lone Star Conference play. Senior
Davion Coleman (Houston) drew 10 of the 19 fouls whistled on the Patriots (2-12, 1-7 Lone Star) and responded by making 14-of-18 from the free throw line for a game-high 20 points. He was one of four Rattlers in double figures.

Micah Jones (Durham, S.C.) and senior
Lachlan Bofinger (Sydney, Australia) scored 16 points each, with Jones draining four three-pointers, and senior
Keith Dinwiddie (Los Angeles, Calif.) chipped in 11 points.

Bofinger posted his eighth double-double of the year, leading all players with 11 rebounds as he grabbed 1/3 of the team's boards on the night. Jones led the game with a season-best four steals and senior
Jalon Johnson (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) led the team with four assists despite playing only 18 minutes due to foul trouble.

The Rattlers led by as many as 27 midway through the second half, 80-53, after a pair of made free throws by senior
Edward Manuel (Lake Charles, La.) and they held the lead for 35:52 of the 40 minutes.

The 12 three-pointers by the Gold and Blue ties for the most this season, equaling the game on Dec. 17 against Montana State-Billings, while the 83.3 percent (25-30) from the free-throw line is the third-best percentage of the year.

St. Mary's remains at home, hosting UAFS on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and Oklahoma Christian on Saturday at 3 p.m.Â

- Senior Tyler Caron (Longview, Texas) scored the 900th point of his career in the game and he now has 901.
- Davion Coleman tallied the fourth 20-point game of his career – and all have come at St. Mary's.
- Saturday was the fifth time this year the Rattlers have made more than 20 free throws in a game. The Rattlers were 25-for-30 at the line, tying for the third-most points there in 2023-24.
