TYLER, Texas – A pitching duel didn't go the way of the St. Mary's Softball team in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Championship as they dropped a 1-0 decision to Eastern New Mexico.

The Greyhounds (26-29) collected only one more hit than the Rattlers (31-25), 7-to-6, but they made it count, scoring one in the first inning and holding on for the win.

The top three in the batting order for StMU recorded all six hits as junior
Destiny Salinas (San Antonio) was 3-for-4, junior
Lauren Gonzales (San Antonio) was 1-for-3 and junior
Reba Reyes (Brownsville, Texas) was 2-for-4.

Catalina Cavazos (Houston) allowed only the one run on seven hits. She struck out four and didn't allow any walks, falling to 15-10 on the season.
